The Austin Mic Exchange aims to create an environment of pure democracy where anybody can showcase their work and help to cultivate the small but fiercely active hip-hop community in Austin, Texas. For 2 hours absolutely anybody is welcome to sign in, take the stage, and perform a track of their own or freestyle over a live beat spun by a live DJ. Each night will close out with a short set from the host. Performers will also be selected to appear on a mixtape released by Hip-Hop Hooray!
