Ice Skating at Bryant Park, Manhattan

January 27, 2014 3:48 am | By Magdalena

A great free event during the chilly winter months of the year is ice skating at Bryant Park in Manhattan, New York. This event is only entirely free if you own a pair of ice skates and a lock. Admission into the arena is free, and renting a pair of ice skates costs $15. But if you own a pair of skates, and have a lock to use in order to lock away your belongings in the free lockers, this fun winter activity is at no cost to you.
The ice skating rink is located in the middle of a dining and shopping area in the heart of Midtown. There are many shops that sell various items from cosmetics to clothes and even food. The 170′ x 100′ rink is located next to a beautifully decorated Christmas tree and a restaurant that overlooks the skating arena. In addition to general ice skating special events and ice skating shows can be spotted in the rink.
The ice skating rink is opened daily from 7:00am to 10:00pm between November 1, 2013 and March 2, 2014. You can also involve in this activity if you are a beginner at ice skating or want to learn how to ice skate. Inside the rink you can find very helpful staff members that will quickly aid you if you fall on the ice.
When you decide to involve in this winter activity, make sure to bring your own lock to safely lock your belongings in the free lockers. If you do not own a lock you can purchase one at the rink for $9.
Ice skating is definitely my favorite winter activity; I highly recommend it to you, especially when it is at little or no cost at all!
