Happy Autumn Moon! September 19th-21st

The Autumn Moon festival is held on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar, during a full moon, which is in late September or early October in the Gregorian calendar, close to the autumnal equinox.

Traditional to eat moon cakes. Families and friends swap the hearty mini pies — which are a bit sweet and a bit savory, thanks to their lotus seed filling and the salty duck egg, or two, in the center — to share their best wishes. The perfectly round cakes — and the yolks encased in their filling — represent the full moon.
