College Intern Job Description:
Great opportunity for English, marketing, journalism students or students who enjoy writing about life in America. Seeking savvy student writers with wit and creativity, who are driven and wish to earn college credit by writing blog articles. End of semester stipend of between $300 and $500 for those eligible. (Students working for college credit may not be eligible for stipend.)
We are a global college-oriented blog site and want original, republished or non-original content. This may include observations, journalism assignments, photos, and videos. Currently, we want first- hand accounts of life in college and your experiences getting into college. These blog articles will get the top of the front page exposure on a regular basis.
Your job is to write engaging, useful articles, with substance, for a total of five hours a week. Length of blog articles are between 250 and 500 words. We also ask that you spend 1-2 hours a week to help promote your article or blog piece on social media, such as Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr and possibly include relevant pictures on Pinterest and Instagram. We are open to other new mediums for posting as well.
This is a virtual internship. Position starts in January and ends in May for a total of 12- 15 weeks, with vacations for spring break, midterms and finals.
In addition to getting published, you will earn intern credit, possibly receive a stipend, and you will also receive a superb, multi- paragraph, professional reference, written and customized on your behalf. Other great perks of this position are flexible work hours where you can work in your pajamas from home or wherever you are!
