Jiangsu province students will compete for U.S. scholarships through the first ever
Phoenix IntroAmerica Jiangsu Star Students Search program from May to October 2014

SAN DIEGO — May 29, 2014 — IntroAmerica™, the Professional Committee of the Jiangsu Education Association (JEA) and Jiangsu Phoenix AD Media Ltd. , a company under the Phoenix Publishing & Media Inc. umbrella, today announced the Phoenix IntroAmerica Jiangsu Star Students Search™ competition for all eligible students in Jiangsu’s high schools who want to attend colleges in the United States in fall 2015. Winners will be decided through an essay-writing competition and interviews with U.S. college representatives and judges.

“A scholarship to a U.S college can be a life-changer for Chinese students.” said Betty Wong, CEO and founder of IntroAmerica. “We are extremely lucky that colleges like Anderson University, Boston University, Denison University, Lynn University, Queens University of Charlotte, Southern Utah University, St. John Fisher College, St. Michael’s College, Sterling College, University of Kentucky, University of Mississippi, University of Northern Iowa, University of the Pacific and Winthrop University are willing to recognize and provide merit based scholarships to Jiangsu’s best and brightest.” In total, the 15 colleges have developed a pool of over $4 million in scholarships for Jiangsu’s students. In addition, Mary & Harry Chung from Douglas Elliman, a real estate organization, and Alan Kertzner, CEO of the Institute of Global Student Success, are also offering special scholarships for deserving students.

The Jiangsu Education Association and the Jiangsu Phoenix AD Media Ltd. are working together to announce the program through Jiangsu province in the high schools and public media. They are encouraged by the participation of the American colleges and confident of the ability of their students to meet scholarship standards.

Phoenix is the officially-named sponsor of this unique collaboration with the Jiangsu Education Association and Intro America because of its interest in taking on the “social responsibility” of introducing the young generation to cultural exchange between the US and China. Among the Phoenix Publishing & Media Group’s goals is the promotion of cultural inheritance and international communications.

The Phoenix Jiangsu Star Students Search will take place in Jiangsu province, China with the participation of more than 500 high schools. All Jiangsu high school students who will be eligible for college in fall 2015 are encouraged to register at www.introamerica.com/star-colleges and select colleges for scholarship consideration. They will write an essay on a specific topic. Each high school in Jiangsu will select the top essays winners and send the essays to a panel for further judging in America. The panel, created by IntroAmerica, will choose 300 finalists to compete in interviews with judges from US colleges in Nanjing in October. Winners will receive partial to full scholarships from U.S. colleges and other awards, including internships in the U.S., networking training programs and many other prizes.

IntroAmerica believes the Phoenix Jiangsu Star Students Search will help deserving Chinese students that wish to study in the U.S. achieve their dreams. Besides JEA and the Phoenix AD Media Ltd., the Jiangsu Star Students Search also receives support from National Research Center for Colleges and University Admissions (NRCCUA). To make this competition a even more rewarding experience for as many students as possible from Jiangsu, IntroAmerica continues to look for more sponsorship and support from more colleges and all types of organizations interesting in funding scholarships or prizes for students.

Having successfully assisted thousands of students in gaining knowledge about education and life opportunities in the U.S. through its websites- www.introamerica.com and www.introamerica.com, IntroAmerica is confident that the Phoenix Jiangsu Star Students Search can bring about long-term impact on the next generation of Chinese students.
