America as a Big Melting Pot

America is a big melting pot!!! People from different corners of the world come to America. Everywhere, you can hear Americans speaking English with different accents, such as Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish accents. It was estimated that the total population composed of approximately 79.96% Caucasian, 12.85% African American, 4.43% Asian, 0.97% Amerindian and Alaska native and 0.18% native Hawaiian and other Pacific islander. No matter where you go, you will always encounter restaurants that serve foods from cultures all around the world. Some of the well-known cultural foods included chicken with broccoli in Chinese restaurants, curry in Indian restaurants, and pozole in Mexican restaurants. Surprisingly, it is amazing that traditional American foods are not “tainted” by foods from the other cultures.
The most famous American melting-pot cities are New York City, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., Boston, Houston, Dallas, and Atlanta. From my experience of living in New York City, I can say confidently that every new day is a cultural and social exploration. While walking on the constantly changing streets, you can always strike up an informal conversation about almost everything with the person walking next to you. In Times Square in New York City, for example, tourists and New Yorkers coming from every corner of the world meet together and experience the exuberance of America’s thriving multiculturalism society. In this melting pot, there is no limit about how much you can learn and how much you can experience!
